## Description

The TR600 telephone call recorder will record calls on any analog, IP, or digital phone lines. Set the phone recorder it to automatically record when a call is made or received. Telephone call recordings are stored on the included removable SD card. Calls can be played back on the TR600 phone recording device itself or you can remove the SD card and playback/store on any MAC or Windows computer; no extra software is required. For windows users, the Call Assistant Software enables you to manage and organize your recorded calls. The TR600 telephone recording device is a complete stand alone phone call recorder solution, it does not require the use of a computer or any extra software. Setting up the telephone recorder takes less than 5 minutes and then it essentially runs on autopilot (when phone calls are set to automatically record). The time/date of each recorded call is displayed on the LCD screen of the device; alternately each file on the SD card is organized in chronological order and stamped with the time/date.The loop feature ensures that landline call recording is never stopped due to a full memory card; when the memory fills up, the newest calls are recorded over the oldest calls on the SD card. The phone number of incoming calls is displayed on the TR600 phone call recorders LCD screen (the phone line must have caller ID). Not only is it a landline call recorder but it can also be used as a voice/meeting recording device.

Review: so far so good - works good on VoIP - I ended up having to buy this because my portable recorder was having problems. I'm dealing with chronic attacks from telemarketers who are ignoring the TCPA and FTC Do not call lists and I need to gather evidence that will hopefully, once again, be used in court. My old recordings were used as evidence in prior cases so I am well aware of the laws and what a consumer can and cannot do. Your state must be a "one party consent state" - this means that at least one party of the phone conversation must be aware of the recording. The states were both parties must be aware the conversation is being recorded are CA, CT, FL, HI, MD, MA, MO, OR, PA, and WA. As far as the device: It's pretty straightforward. I hooked mine up without even looking at the directions. There's two sets of modular jack inputs so if you saw the bad complaint on here where the person said it would not fit their phone it appears they were trying the wrong set. One set is for headsets and one is for the home phone line setup. The recording is clear and saved as a wav file, which can be played on any Windows version using the default media player. The audio files are sorted in directories by date (every day creates a new folder) and the file name shows the year/month/day/time/phone number. It does this with both incoming and outgoing calls. Once the SD card is removed a loud annoying alarm starts beeping, so it's best to have a spare SD card ready to put in the device when you remove the original one to play on your PC. You can pick up a card reader for your computer for just a couple of bucks and this is the most common style of cards. I've only used it for a couple of days so I cannot attest to the reliability but so far it's been fine. I'm on a VoIP system using ObiTalk and it works on this type of phone system. My only complaint is that I felt the price is a little high.
Review: So glad to see an affordable, reliable, fairly user-friendly device like this hit the market!!! - FINALLY! Been wanting a device like this for the last 20 years, but the last one I found years ago was over $600 . . This one is affordable, and does a great job. The sound quality is pretty decent - plenty good enough to get the job done since it's just voice and not music . . not super-high resolution/quality, but if it was, it wouldn't be able to record for such a long time w/o running out of storage space. I set it to record all calls and used it for a couple of *months* or more, checked the storage space, I'd only used less than half of just ONE of those 64 gigs. I'm impressed! Printed manual was ok but had the usual translation quirks .. (they emailed an improved version on .pdf after purchase), operation is fairly straight forward. Has worked like a charm. This would've proven invaluable in the business I ran for some 40 yrs. before retiring here recently. Would've given my *ass* to have this years ago when I got royally scammed by T-Mobil; could have taken them to the cleaners for what they pulled on me if I'd had proof . . (I at least got a notice of a class action lawsuit against them for the very same crap they pulled on me). Also, I use a MacBook Pro, and it was no problem. The files are std. .wav files that work cross-platform, PC or Mac.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Comcast (digital) service means i have to connect between phone & handset, right? but my phone is cordless. so how do i connect the tr600?**
A: My phone is cordless and it works great. You just plug the line from the wall into the machine and then from the machine to the base of the phone.

**Q: How do i switch to english. which button is settings? its all in chinese.**
A: In order to switch back to English you'll want to follow these instructions:
Click the top right button once, click down once and select that with the top left button. Then scroll down when you see the two short characters ( down 5 times) hit select again (top left button) then scroll down to English and his select again.

**Q: How long of a timeframe does an 8gb sd card give you before the recording loop? (Average). Need to know if i need to purchase a larger card.**
A: We haven't used ours all that much yet, but one of the other reviewers (Bill y) said: "It works as advertised and records around 500 hours on the accompanying SD card. It will use anything up to a 64 gig card so that works out to 2,000 hours." Another reviewer said they had only just gotten their recorder, but that they had successfully recorded an hour-long interview, which gives an idea of how long you can go on the batteries. Hope it helps!

**Q: I'm using this via the handset and there is a loud interference sound and the other caller is very low volume. Can this be fixed?**
A: Soundslikesomethingisn'tpluggedincorrectly.

### ⭐ I have to take back my glowing review of this crap.
*by A***T on August 19, 2022*

This recorder worked better than I ever dreamed it would. It's the recorder I've needed all my life. As a court reporter, doing depositions over the phone can be tough, especially when people speak low, mumble, there's air conditioning going, outside noises, etc. This recorder picks up CLEARLY every word mumbled into the phone. Doctors on bad connections come out clearly. People using speakerphones who are standing far away from the phone come out clearly. I'm so thoroughly satisfied! By the way, it works in speakerphone mode (the only mode I use), which isn't clear in any description of this product that I've found. The cons: The menus are hard to get to and the manual is not very clear. You can eventually figure it out though. The battery compartment is too small, so you literally have to jam the batteries in there. I have no idea if I'll be able to get them out to change them and I hope they don't end up corroding in there. They include every cable you need, but it's not clear by the directions which cable you actually need. The cable it shows that you need is actually the cable you can't use, so you have to experiment and figure out which cable is the correct one. ======================== 7-29-2025 After it working great for a couple of years, it suddenly just stopped working. Just doesn't work. Died. Died dead. No explanation. So I can't recommend it anymore.
