Once opened the mat was creased along the edge. Due to the rubber backing it has been impossible to flatten out. Aside from this the mat has an excellent surface and seems to be well made. It is just a shame that it arrived in this condition. Review: Rippled surface - will not lay flat. - I've had this Dragon Shield Playmat for about two weeks now, and it just will not lay flat. I've tried everything to straighten it out, stretching, heavy books, reverse rolling - nothing has worked. It's basically useless due to to the horrible ripples that run across the entire mat. Probably caused by the simple fact that it shipped in a plastic bag, not a hard protective tube.
