## Description

Pineapple guava. A bushy shrub with grey-green leaves, white beneath. Flowers have long red stamens, purple-red petals, white on the margins and reverse in midsummer.

Review: Beautiful quality large plant. - I'm very impressed with this purchase. I received a surprisingly large, bushy and healthy plant. I re-potted it into a larger pot when it arrived, and after just a couple of weeks it is covered with new shoots that are already a good 4 inches long. Update: 1 year on and we are enjoying our first fruit from this plant - at least that is when we beat the dog to the ripe fruit. It is not the neatest of shrubs/trees and tend to get lanky, so regular pruning is required to keep it looking good. On the plus side, pruning seems to encourage flowering!

**Q: Is this an actual edible feijoa fruit plant?  had one when i lived in nz and the fruit is amazing - how well would it do in the uk (south east area)**
A: Hi, I grew up in New Zealand, we had a huge tree in the front garden, this is the same variety as that. It's very much edible but will take some years to mature. When I got my plant two years ago it was much bigger than I was expecting, easily 50cm in length. I live in Bristol an mine is in the ground by a north facing wall. You should be fine in the south east. If your due a hard ground frost, just bubble wrap it for the cold spell. I'm looking forward to it fruiting. In the meantime, you can buy feijoa fruits from Covent Garden fruit market!

**Q: Can I grow the plant indoors please?**
A: HI I have just got one and I am going to grow it in my back room.

**Q: Why have my plants not flowered ??? They are lovely matures bushes now but not a single flower or bud. Disappointing.**
A: No, mine have not fruited either. They don’t need any special care, other than feeding regularly from spring onwards, which I forget to do! Mine is about 6 feet tall now, I’m hoping this year it’s big enough. I had a huge tree in my garden in New Zealand as a child and I’m hoping to replicate that. Not hugely successful so far on the fruiting though!

A: They are established plants that are of flowering size. I would expect them to flower within 12 months

I bought this plant before from another seller for nearly half of the price that's listed here. The only reason I came here is because the other seller ran out of stock. The service was fine. Although the plant was going to arrive earlier than expected so I had to reschedule the delivery. The plant looks a little rough round the edges and is smaller than the other plant I got but at least it's alive. It's going to need some TLC to catch up.
