Tighten the pieces together with pliers or channelocks, if you tighted it together by hand the 2 pieces will leak. Only hand tighten the entire assembly to the valve stem. Do not try to bleed air out of the tire while filling it. shut your pump off, then bleed the air from tire, when the air is bled, restart fluid pump. 1st tire was learning curve, I lost about 3 oz of fluid 2nd tire, I lost no fluid at all Entire process for 2 tires was about 30 minutes. It is well made, sturdy and it works great if you just think ahead. Review: Works as expected - Used this to fill about 180 gallons of RV coolant into my tractor tires. I used a drill operated transfer pump and it worked really well.
