When I finally ordered, I felt kind of stupid because I just ended up getting the most highly recommended option on amazon and the first one I looked at. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised as it exceeded my expectations, so I figured I'd write a review to potentially save other people with the same concerns I had from wasting a bunch of time as well.Probably my number one concern was grip/texture. More often than not I use my phone one-handed. The sides of the S9 are 1) slick 2) thin, and 3) rounded, all of which makes it hard to hold in one hand without feeling like you might be about to crush it. I wanted a rubberized-feeling texture to make the phone easier to hold, but you can't really tell from the pictures which cases have this. The texture for this product DOES have a slightly rubberized feel to it that makes it a lot easier to hold onto. It's still hard, but IMO pretty far from that type of shiny plastic that has very little friction. Some of the other cases I looked at had what appeared to be a more textured feel in the pictures, but the reviews said that they were actually kind of slippery. I found some youtube videos of them and you could kind of see what people are talking about - what looked like a rubbery texture in pictures was more of a plastic one in those cases, which was more evident when someone moved it around letting light catch it different ways.Next point: screen protectors. This is a bit of a rabbit hole. Apparently they're hard to make well for phones with curved face edges. To give a basic overview, there are 3 types: soft plastic ones (which I think feel like garbage and offer less protection), "tempered glass" (which can be tough to get on, reduce touch sensitivity, and get unsightly air bubbles underneath), and dome glass (which is made by "Whitestone" and everyone agrees are the top of the line, but which are wayyy more expensive than the other ones). The dome glass is not compatible with all cases, which is a big issue because the screen protector is more important than the case - a broken screen is the most likely way for a fall to ruin your phone, and you interact with it whenever you use the phone. I did not get the dome glass because it seems that tempered glass is much cheaper, and works well when it works, the problem is that it's inconsistent. So if the tempered glass protector I just put on my phone fails, I'm going with dome glass, which makes it pretty critical that the case be compatible with it. This case IS compatible with dome glass. It's unclear to me whether the the cases which are incompatible with dome glass are similarly incompatible with regular tempered glass protectors, because I couldn't really find any info on that.Finally I want to address aesthetics. I prefer a case that looks good over the really ugly ones are super protective (I've never dropped a phone from a distance of more than about five feet, which every case should be able to protect against). The pictures made this case look a little bulky, but in person it looks great. Maybe it's because most of the pictures are of the blue model, and I got the black one, but I'm really happy with how it looks after actually putting it on my phone. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My favorite S9 case so far *by E***Y on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on September 2, 2018* This is a really nice case. I wouldn't classify it as thin fit but it's not overly bulky either. The case adds some heft but less than say an Otterbox or other heavy duty case. The design looks great. I appreciate Caseology has a variety of color options. I picked the lilac color and it matches the color of my phone very well. The feel of the case is nice too. It offers good grip. The case fits perfectly. Its snug but not too snug to be difficult to remove. The button covers for the volume, power, and bixby button work great. They are not hard to click at all which is a problem I've had with previous cases. The bottom and top of the phone have cutouts for the mic, USB port, etc. Wireless charging is compatible with the case. I've used this on my car vent mount and the case isnt too heavy to constantly have the phone moving unless going around sharp turns. There is also a nice lip on the top and bottom, but not on the sides due to the curve. I've dropped the phone once in my bathroom (fell face up on tile and made a loud smack). I checked the back of the phone and no damage was done. I think this case will offer good protection unless it falls face down (it may be okay with the lip but of course at the right angle it will probably still damage the glass; no case can protect 100%). The cutout for the finger print sensor is perfect too, although other reviewers state the heart rate sensor may not function due to the cutout design (I dont use this feature). For the price this is worth it. Out of 3 cases I've tried so far this is my favorite.Update: I've had this case almost a year now and it is still holding up well. I have dropped the phone a ton of times, even onto cement in my garage, and the phone has survived. There have been a couple times I dropped the phone and thought "ugh that isn't going to be good" but it turned out fine. I don't have a screen protector on the phone and have had zero damage to the screen. One nice thing with the S9 is that it tends to fall onto its back not front, so that does help keep the screen from being damaged. This case is worth the money and has saved me several times.2nd update: April 2020 and still using this case. Dropped it onto blacktop pavement recently and it bounced about 3 times. Even my friend was skeptical the phone would be okay but this case protected it. I had my first one for about 4 years before replacing it. I drop my phone ALOT, often from great heights, but I have never had a crack or scrape on the phone itself because this case works so well. I especially love how lightweight it feels compared to something like an otterbox.
