Needless to say he absolutely loved them and loves how big they are as well. I was very happy with the size as well, as I did picture them in my head to be about half the size they actually are. The quality is right up there with other minecraft figures from the same brand, so that's always nice. The colors are exact to what was expected as well, and this would have made a great birthday present had I waited to let my son open them.
