This melamine "Margrethe" mixing bowl is nice and deep for mixing batters. A rubberized ring on the base of the bowl prevents slipping as you whisk, beat, or stir. A wide edge on one side of the bowl allows you to properly grip and steady the bowl when beating, and a pouring lip on the other side makes it easy to pour the batter into cake pans. Not intended for use in microwave. LOVE these bowls! Clean so easily, love the little rubber gasket on the bottom. A tad on the thinner side compared to my other melamine bowls but they are light to hold.

These bowls are expensive-------cheap alternatives are readily available in the malls. But they are the real thing and last practically forever----I've got another one that I inherited from my mom that's probably forty years old and still going strong. Good stuff.
