For me it is perfect, as the display is easy to read during daylight, or when the bedroom is lit, but when the room is dark the unit emits no light and so to read the time you just press the top and the time display is illuminated briefly and then goes dark again. So, if you like a dark and silent room as a sleep aid at night this is perfect for you, but if you want to clock watch on sleepless nights maybe you need to explore other units. On the plus side, it is clear to read, and easy to use. On the negative side, there is only one button to control alarm on/off and alarm/clock time setting, which means that you have to be rather careful about which position the button is in to make sure the alarm is set. Also, the light/snooze button is a but clunky.
