It is 3/4 inch to tall. I unfortunately thought I ordered a 22" but ordered a 18" Weber. **Q: I would like to use this in my basic charcoal grill. What is the width and height of the vortex?** A: I don't recall the actual sizes but it tells you on there somewhere. It works the best in a kettle style grill like the original Weber. The coals last longer and the burn is more predictable and easy to manage.
