They are ideal for sample Collection, storage and Safety. Though these are non-sterile, the tubes themselves are autoclave. The white screw cap has a molded-in sealing ring, which helps provide a tight and leak-proof fit. The vials have a writable surface on their side, and are graduated accurately to 5ml of volume. While the vials are Conical, the sides of the vial have been extended to just beyond the tip, allowing them to be freestanding. The caps screw on easily and the graduations on the side are relatively accurate.For reference, I've used other transport vials that I purchased from Sigma Aldrich that are three times the price and pretty awful. The caps on those frequently crossthreaded (a frustrating issue when you are dealing with thousands of samples), and ~1% of the vials came partially melted... Not so with these vials! They are exactly as advertised.
