Not easy to use at all. I returned it because it was not easy to use. I couldn't slip the yellow into the blue. **Q: how tall are the letters? Please, no guessing.** A: It’s very small, yum our better off getting the stamp the letters are thicker and nicer **Q: Do you have to put them in the holder? Or is there a spot to grip them and push in by hand?** A: You need the holder, but even using the holder it is difficult to slide the letters through. I tried to use it once didn’t work out well. Haven’t attempted to use it again. It’s trash **Q: anyone tried this with chocolate?** A: I haven't tried this with chocolate. These are very very small. I doubt it would work well at all. I was very disappointed and I just used it to stamp in a cookie! I would definitely advise you NOT to purchase this item and waste your money!!!! Removing the letters from their slots can be tricky in the beginning, and when stamping, you have to place the letters in reverse order (mirrored) so they come out correctly. I recommend trying it out on a test piece before using it on your final project.
