Review: What an insane device - I'm a veteran of the networking realm, I've lived and breathed Cisco in the enterprise for the last 20+ years. This device has impressed me from day one of unboxing it. It is incredibly sophisticated and powerful for such a small price. The feature set is unrivaled, and the best thing is it simply just works and it works exceedingly well. Let me give you some scenarios. When my wife and I moved to a new house, the internet service we could get was DSL and Starlink. DSL is absolutely dreadful, the connection is unstable nonstop. The starlink is absolutely solid. Being able to have two WAN connections and monitor their health to make forwarding decisions is key here as far as load balancing goes. The way it functions and how well it functions, really deserves an applause. When we originally received Starlink, the satellite sat with its kickstand in the side yard for a few days, and we did not have cabling from the basement to the 1st and 2nd floors. The Starlink router had to stay in the basement. Part of the magic of the Peplink B One, is that you can configure wireless SSID's aka, you can configure wireless networks external to your own as WAN ports. Yes, you could use your neighbors WIFI as a WAN port to the internet. So I configured the Starlink SSID to be hidden, configured a very complex random password, and then configured the Peplink to use that Starlink hidden SSID as a WAN port. Boom. Starlink now brought into the fold on the same device as DSL - load balancing both connections. QoS, bandwidth limits, application recognition - it's amazing. I am a Peplink fan at this point. Thank you Peplink, looking now to pick up some WAPs that do wireless mesh :) EDIT 2026-03-01 Since writing this I got rid of that DSL connection about 2 weeks after writing this review, and we got Coax 1Gb service in April 2025, so we are using a Starlink and Coax service simultaneously. I've also begun adding access points after running cat6 in my house and the B One controls them seamlessly. In my basement I've got an aggregation switch with a trunk between basement and my office on the 2nd floor. On that trunk are many VLANs including the Starlink connection which is used for WAN. You can configure a reserved VLAN on the device as a WAN connection and catch it off a trunk, pretty nice. Behind my home connection I've got a lab for work that runs quite a bit, and there are outbound rules to control what connection my lab uses for consistency. Still very much in love with this thing
Review: Excellent high-end router for security - I loved my Peplink Surf SOHO but wanted something with higher throughout. This 1gbps B One router fit the bill, and I couldn't be happier. If you are looking for a router with business class features and security that won't break the bank, this is it! I have it set up with two virtual LANs, one for my IoT devices and one for my home machines, and will probably configure a few more for guest network and my work machines. Peplink let's me isolate machines on VLans, which is a great way to keep your network secure from a Lan-side attack (think malware loaded into a Ring camera or something). Just search for Peplink Router Security setup and read about what these routers can do! I have it set up with Cloudflare's Family DNS service so I am getting ad and malware blocking and adult content blocking for all connected devices. Overall, I saw my download speeds reach their advertised 300 Mbps of my cable service provider with 200+ common on wifi. This was a big step up from the 60-120 Mbps from the old SOHO. Am soon upgrading to 1gig fiber so can't wait to really unleash this machine. I have a smallish house so have no wireless signal strength issues (seems very comparable to the SOHO). Best part with Peplink is they never stop maintaining firmware. This is a quality business grade product and I expect many years of great performance and security just like I had with their previous model.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent router for a home or small office.

I am retired from a position where I built large-scale internet services, and I believe this router is one of the best for home use. This router has an intuitive web interface for configuration. It allows the Ethernet or another wifi service to act as the internet source. The speeds are faster than many. I regularly get 150mbps plus when connected to Starlink as the Internet source. This is my third Peplink router. One I lost in a move. The second one is in my motorhome, and the third one is in my house. They all perform well under all conditions. If I ever need another router, I will be looking to get another one of these.
