And works well as a humidifier for relatively small rooms. (The CA-807 is a bigger version of this one) *by C***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 April 2018* This is the 4th humidifier technology that I have owned (Ultrasonic cool mist, motor-driven wick-belt in reservoir, pumped water to top of wick, this one) and it is the best technology I have used for this by far! The ultrasonic units are quiet but cannot cope with the hard water we have in London. The motor driven wick-belt broke down and was heavily soiled with hard water. The wick type where water is pumped to the top and runs down is actually an evaporative cooler and humidifies the room much more, plus copes better with hard water but is really noisy! (I have the electriQ Slimline Mobile Portable Evaporative Air Cooler) The Clean Air Optima CA-803 is the only unit I can have on in the bedroom while I sleep, which has really helped my sleep. I recommend continuous mode and set the speed to your preference (probably low or high, as turbo is audible). It can also handle the limescale and is easy to clean! It might not humidify a moderate sized room enough with the heating on full blast but for most bedrooms where the heating is usually off at night it is perfect.
