I ask because someone said it is not advised.** A: Unless you have one-way valves on both exhausts prior to the Y junction, I definately wouldn't do it. Also, one way valves take some air volume to open them, so the bath fan would have to overcome that, plus if both the dryer fan (powerful) and bath fan (less powerful) are operating at the same time, the dryer fan might force the bath fan valve shut. Solidly-built joints -- good spot-welds along the Y joints, tight seams that are both crimped AND stitch-welded. The double clamp-retention shoulders are better than most. I can't get it to flex, much less crush.The thing that really sets this apart from the rest is the mastic spread across all seams and joints. What other fitting have you found that comes pre-sealed with mastic?!? That's usually something I have to do on site. And it's not all globby or sloppy.
