I'm replacing an older one that I loved - they do apparently wear out. I'd rather not have had to buy two, but I can give one to a relative.BUT: I don't know where else to make this comment, so I'm making it here. My beef is with Amazon, the shipper. Amazon has taken to shipping more things in bags due to environmental concerns (which I do support), BUT the packaging too often causes products to arrive damaged. When the damage is severe enough, you need to either replace the item or just return it, which seems to me to defeat the purpose of using the inadequate packaging. The egg timers come secured to a cardboard backing by a plastic shield. The cardboard arrived damaged and badly bent in one corner, and the plastic shield for one timer had torn off so that it was simply loose in this oversized bag.
