I removed the old one by pulling it hand over hand from the narrow slot the bottom “T” fits into. I started the new one and pushed it in carefully a couple of inches at a time until I was 3/4 of the way around the window. Then I switched positions and pulled it the rest of the way through. Total installation time was under ten minutes. I only used about seven of the ten foot length and just trimmed off the excess.
