I made sure it was not next to a glass window so the heat in the house would not effect the reading but it still reads a little off. I had a little problem with the alarm going off when it was freezing outside but I reread the directions and was able to turn all the alarms off. Other then the temp reading a little higher then it is outside I like the unit and can look at the unit instead of having to check the weather online or on TV. May buy another thermometer to double check temps.
