They're super hardy - we've taken them out in the rain, in cold weather, through puddles, up muddy hillsides, and crashed into just about everything including boulders. The wheels are a dense foam so they're showing signs of wear, but the rest of the car still looks great. The cars are somewhat hard to control, but mostly because they're so powerful, so the turning can be a bit "jumpy". Super fast, and my kids think it's hilarious to make the car kick up on only it's back wheels if they start fast from a dead stop. Once I figured out the charger port on the bottom it hasn't been a huge hassle but I definitely have to do it for my kids so they're not 100% independent toys for young kids.
