The fabric is water proof which I wanted to lay out wet clothing to dry if I needed to - which I do with almost every wash. I also lined mine with a layer of batting to give it some cushioning. The fabric is a bit stiff but still thin enough to sew with my regular sewing machine but the stiffness gives it a wrinkle free effect. This fabric is exactly what I was looking for when I found it on Amazon. It did take longer to be delivered than most Amazon packages but I wasn't in any hurry so it didn't really matter.
