It is slightly bigger than the length and width listed. It does give off color when washed, therefore wash it independently. Holds it's dimensions well - right angles all around - no stretched asymmetrical problems. There's a few small gaps/holes between the strands of leather here and there - nothing you'd notice from any distance or on a dark surface. It comes folded and in a plastic bag, not rolled. After a couple of weeks, the fold lines are pretty flattened out. It's a little darker (dark brown version) in person than the photo appears on my screen. Out of the package it has a smell. Not bad really, just not like fresh leather either. I gave it a thorough wipe down with some leather cleaner and then conditioner and after a week or so, it does smell more like leather.
