The sprinkler waters as it travels along a hose on a preset route, much like an electric model train, except with a hose as the rails. A front wheel runs on the hose with the two traction-ready rear wheels bestride. The hose connects to the posterior of the sprinkler. The Nelson Rain-Train Traveling Sprinkler does just what it's designed and advertised to do, and it's also very stable due it's weight. Although the wheels are made of plastic, the body of the Sprinkler is made of cast-iron, and it weighs around 18 lbs. I recommend this sprinkler to anyone who has a large yard without in-ground sprinklers, and/or to anyone who isn't interested in moving their sprinkler around their property.
