The underside of the mat is fitted with small rubber nodules which provide traction and prevent against slipping and sliding. **Q: what adhesive should be used with this product?** A: I don't think it requires adhesive. If it's in a dry area it will stay down fairly well. If outside you wil want to take it upin really wet weather.
