My apartment building likes to suck up this humidity and dump it into my living space. I kept waking up covered in sweat even when it was cold, all my clothes and towels are always damp, and bits of metal thru my place have actually started to rust from it being so humid all the time. I decided to do something about it, and based on all the reviews, went with this unit. I'm a week in, and it's working like an absolute champion. I initially ran it on high for 24 hours, but now I just move it around and run it in each room for just a couple hours at a time. The average humidity is down over 20%, and it has mostly stayed that way. It appears to have sucked up the humidity from my carpet, curtains, clothes, and even my doors that swell up from humidity are closing like normal, which I didn't expect. It rained the other day and I left the door open to get some fresh air, which of course raised the humidity inside. But running this for an hour pulled it back down to 40%. It's super simple to use, plug-in and go. And dumping the water bucket is extremely easy. The wheels make it easy to move, the form factor is small enough and good-looking enough to not be an eye sore. My only qualm is that somehow the unit is louder on LOW than HIGH because the compressor kicks into this loud whine. But that's OK because I just run it on high for a couple hours here and there in whatever room I'm not in. If this thing stands the test of time it will be a 10/10 purchase.
