Happy with purchase, almost returned it though

I was planning to get a Wacom tablet before I found this. I've bought convertible laptop/drawing tablets in the past and always like using them, but they are niche products nowadays and get obsolete as soon as the laptop specs get old. So I like the idea of a separate tablet that can plug into any computer.Pros:o < half the price of a Wacom Cintiqo Full HD / good DPIo Passive stylusCons:o Glitchy driver/softwareo No stand includedo Doesn't work standaloneThe issues with the driver/software were the biggest problem and almost made me return the product. Here are the problems I ran into setting up the tablet in Windows 10:1. Mouse cursor wasn't appearing anywhere near the physical pen location. I connected the tablet as an extended desktop, and by default, the driver maps the pen location on the tablet to the full size of the extended desktop across all displays. This seems like a nonsensical default for a drawing tablet, but it's easy to fix in the "Mapping" section of the tablet settings dialog.2. Pen taps that should have registered as left-clicks were registering as right-clicks about once every two or three times. This was pretty bad and made the tablet at best frustrating, and at worst unusable.3. After no luck solving #2, I tried the calibration. This didn't work initially because the second calibration point kept appearing on my other monitor instead of the tablet, so I couldn't tap it. The problem here is the calibration function isn't DPI aware. The workaround is to go into Windows display settings and make sure the scale is set to 100% (mine was 125%). After calibration is complete, you can change it back to the original setting. Silly but easy enough to deal with.4. Another problem is when tapping the pen near the top or bottom edges of the screen (about 1 cm from either edge) the cursor strays out of position as the pen is moved closer to the screen surface, and the pen tap registers about 1-3mm away from the correct spot. This isn't a problem for drawing since I don't draw on that part of the screen, but it is a problem when trying to tap on menus or status bars (especially with DPI scale set to 100%).I tried the tablet on three computers, including a low performance laptop and a high performance desktop, and experienced all the same issues. Problem #2 was a deal-breaker. But after an hour or two of troubleshooting, it seemed to resolve on its own -- almost as if it knew it was about to be packed up and shipped back to the seller.I decided to keep the tablet, but overall less excited about it than when first I opened the box. After a year, problem #2 never resurfaced.

Not perfect but worth the money

1st unit I received had a bad digitizer and had to be RMA'd. 2nd unit works perfectly. If you are running dual displays you will need an adapter to duplicate your second display on the prablo tablet. You cannot run this as its own display, you need to duplicate a display for the pen calibration to work. The software leaves something to be desired but does what it needs to do.I wish I had understood the display duplication limitation before I purchased so that I could have ordered the adapter at the same time.Like the title says, this is not perfect but it is worth the price. If you want to see if a graphic tablet will fit your workflow this is a good starting point without breaking the bank. Not even close to a wacom cintiq so dont expect it but its also not even close to the price of a cintiq.

Quality product for a reasonable price.

The Coast 13 graphics tablet is certainly a product worth of purchase. I myself have yet to fall victim to any particular problems with the device and it serves its function well with both a high-quality screen and pressure sensitive pen (which requires no charging which is a major plus). Occasionally I will have an issue with the tablet software being uncertain as of where to map the mouse cursor relative to the pen and screen, but that is an easy fix simply requiring one to re-apply the tablet mapping to the desire monitor in the settings of it's accompanying program.Overall, while I do not have a great deal of experience with graphics tablets, this one seemed to be worth it's price tag and will at minimum serve beginning artists like myself well.
