Black ones do even better, blocking at least 90 percent of rays. “The umbrellas blocked between 77 percent and 99 percent of UV radiation,” wrote Suephy Chen and colleagues at Emory University in Atlanta. **Q: How long is the stick when opened?** A: Rough dimensions: when fully open - from the underside of the cloth to the outer edge of the handle is 22.5". Handle is around 3.25" tall. **Q: how many month is warranty?** A: Supposedly if you buy the Davek SOLO umbrella directly from their website for the exact same price, the warranty is guaranteed fir a lifetime. You only pay for shipping to return it, and they say that they are returnable if they stop functioning correctly for any reason. I’m not sure if that includes the frame breaking due to strong wind, but they say it’s supposed to be able to withstand 90% of strong winds, and for the remaining 10%, the umbrella may turn inside out, but it’s built not to break and should be able to be pulled back to its normal shape. If that a “function” of the umbrella, damage due to high winds should be a legitimate reason for a replacement.
