I was apprehensive to buy it cause of the reviews but wanted something to help with in-home checks. I didn't expect it to be hospital quality but wanted something to give me an idea. My doctor told me even hospital tests can change by a gram from a test one hour to another a few hours later.., so I expected some major swings. Tested hemoglobin one day when I went in for test...and the results were comparative for hemoglobin by .4 grams....Telling me it was close enough to be helpful but not exact. So for hemoglobin I'd trust it to be close enough to go with but cognizant it might be off some. However, I haven't been able to test the veracity of the cholesterol test yet. It tests me higher than the numbers I had a year ago....so not sure My levels rose that much or if tester is off. All reviews i read said this specific test can be wildly swinging... And I've seen a wide range of results over a few days (40-60 off) so I believe that, but I just can't be sure my level is as high as the tester says. Either way, if it's off by even 60, tells me my level is up. I wouldn't buy this unit to give yourself exact results daily, but it is a decent way to check your levels within reason for the price they charge. For me, I'm glad I have a home test kit even if it's not exact. Gives me a rough idea that more helpful than not knowing at all. ### ⭐ Inaccurate, do not buy! (MD) *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on July 19, 2014* I'm a family medicine physician who purchased this product and it does not work at all for measuring hemoglobin. I tested multiple different people with different sets of test strips and got extreme differences each time (it read '19' (which is very high for a healthy human), then 'low', and then a random out of normal range value). This device at a minimum is a waste of a lot of money (the test strips are very pricey in addition to the $99 unit itself plus if you incur a medical bill to ensure the results are inaccurate (an ER visit can approach $1000 without too much effort)) and at worst, is dangerous to your health depending on your result and how it is handled.Please, don't purchase this product. If you need your hemoglobin monitored, or want your hemoglobin monitored, speak with your physician and they may order a blood test at reasonable intervals that insurance may cover or that are not very expensive. Plus, you will have the benefit of a medical professional to help you interpret and understand the values you are getting (as opposed to Googling it and freaking out and ending up in the ER or doing harm with supplements that may or may not be needed). ### ⭐ Very useless product *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on January 31, 2014* I bought this test kit to monitor my hemoglobin level. It took me 4 tries to make the test to read my blood, so 4 strips were wasted for nothing. When it finally showed the result; it showed that my hb level was LOW. The instruction says to check it one more time, and if it's still shows the same result to call the doctor immediately, because LOW indicates very dangerous level of hemoglobin. I rechecked it one more time (after couple of tries of course); it showed the same result. I was so scared, I was going to go to ER to see if I need some blood transfusion or something:), but then I read some info online and some people say that those home kits are not so accurate which made me feel a little better, but I still ordered CBC blood test in a real lab next day, cost me only $27.00:). That was such a relief when I got my test results back from a lab, and it showed that my Hemoglobin was withing a normal range. I am so disappointed in this monitoring system.
