## Overview

## Description

The RoboSnail is an automated aquarium glass cleaner that activates once every 24 hours independent of the user. The RoboSnail by activating once every 24 hours independent of the user prevents buildup on the aquariums surface associated in maintaining an aquarium. This results in less intensive cleaning of the glass surface in both marine and freshwater aquariums. The plus model comes with an extra docking station, battery, and scrubber pad

Review: Saves a lot of time.. keeping my tank glass looking nice from algae growth - This little Robot works excellent! If you pay attention to understanding how it operates and set up..the first time I followed the instructions it worked well but when it reached the end of my 200 gallon aquarium it would bump against the edge a few times then rotate up and go to the edge again and repeat.. it finally fell off. I sent a email to the Manufacturer concerned with how to solve it. The Inventor contacted me directly with some suggestions after making sure I programmed it correctly. He explained how it operates. It is supposed to go to the end of the aquarium and once the Robosnail reaches the end the front wheels are supposed to drop off the edge signaling the Robosnail it is at the end and to return to base. My aquarium had a thick bead of silicone inside where I had resealed the tank from a leak. So the inside scuff pad was hitting the silicone not allowing the Robosnail to sense it was at the end. The Manufacturer mentioned that if I had a issue with it he would quickly send me a replacement. After explaining how it works. I said I’ll try and set a barrier up to signal the Robosnail to return. All I did was get a 1/4 inch of plastic tubing and stick it with double sided tape on the outside of my aquarium right along the edge down to have the Robosnail bump into it and trip it’s switch in front instead. Easy fix and the tubing being black is almost invisible on my aquarium. Now once a day it automatically comes on and cleans my glass. It misses a couple spots minor and I have to wipe along the gravel at times though I have it programmed to go pretty low and touch my coral gravel in my Reef tank. In comparison the back glass of my aquarium is a pain for me to keep up with wiping off algae.. I’m considering buying a second one to use on the back glass of my Reef tank. There is mention of its noisy which it is but I prefer to know when it’s working and it doesn’t bother me that much since it keeps my glass clean saving me time. I think it is a fantastic invention with excellent support. This is a small Company that certainly back their product and will help with getting yours up and running. Once you understand how it operates it is a time savor. My Wife always comments now how nice our Reef tank stays looking now..yes it only cleans one side but my tank being large enough it makes a difference. Make sure you check your glass thickness.. if yours is 1/2 inch you will need the more expensive one. Mine being only 10 mm thick the $140 one works perfectly and has never fallen off again since I have it programmed correctly. I cannot imagine not having it now.
Review: Doesn't work on 1/2" acrylic - This thing is terrible on my 1/2" acrylic tank. I measured the thickness of the panes, and they were 10.8mm. The robosnail is rated to 10mm tanks so I figured it would work. The unit works when traveling down the glass, but going up causes it to loose traction with its very slick tires (silicone). It will sit at the top of the tank trying to inch up to the top edge for minutes at a time. I put double sided tape on the tires (not a fix) to test if traction was its only problem. The bot with double sided tape on the tires did great, however the tape is not durable enough and gets rubbed and destroyed on the glass which is a pain to clean. If the tires were more rubberized, the product would work fine on acrylic. Silicone does NOT stick to acrylic glass very well at all. That's why they don't build acrylic tanks with silicone caulking the same way as they do with glass tanks. I think this thing will work fine on actual silica glass tanks, but I would definitely veer away from using it on acrylic tanks due to the traction issue. I can lay it on my glass table and try to drag it around, very grippy. When I lay it on the top of my tank (acrylic top), it can slide around fairly easily without much side pressure showing its poor grip.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it only clean the front of the aquarium. Does it clean the sides and back as well. ?**
A: Hello There, The product will clean any side of the aquarium that you mount it to as long it is within operational parameters. Typically people mount it on their main viewing window or their back glass. The product does not move around corners. Also it is designed for preventative maintenance to keep algae from building up by dusting the surface everyday. Therefore it is best to keep it mounted on one side at all times. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

**Q: It is the model rsv1a.5?**
A: This listing is the standard RoboSnail. Are you looking for the High Capacity for thicker glass? We do carry both and could get you the HC version instead if that is the one you need.

**Q: We have a 350 gallon hex tank. I know the robot can't cross the corners, but is it possible to move the unit between the different sides?**
A: As long as the panes of your glass do not exceed 12 mm or 1/2 you can do that. However you would require extra mounting tape which we could provide. We can also provide you with additional docking stations which would be better. We also can supply you with these as well. However, since the Robosnail is a preventative maintenance tool and not a traditional algae scrapper it would be best if you had multiple units running at the same time every day. This way the algae does not have a chance to build up. If there is build up you would require the Robosnail to clean for more days to remove the algae film at that time the next panel of glass would be twice as built up and etc. We have had customers with bow front aquariums, semi cylinder aquariums, rimless, in wall and standard configurations use our product. It can be used for you if it fits your present needs. We hope that this was helpful. Thank you for your question and your interest in our product.

Best Regards,
AquaGenesis

**Q: i have a 7/8" thick 300 gal acrylic fish tank. would this unit will stick to the acrylic & NOT scratch the tank ?????**
A: No…it won’t ordinarily cause scratches UNLESS a bit of debris happens to get blown onto the pad or a fish (such as a jaw fish) happens to deposit some debris onto the pad. We’ve had one for over five years now and it’s sure nice to come home to a freshly cleaned main display at the end of the day.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Time Saver and Well Manufactured
*by G***O on March 4, 2015*

I have a 180 gallon reef tank and use the lights heavily for my coral. I previously had to clean the glass daily to avoid algae and calcium build up. Robo Snail however has changed my tank maintenance. I have now reduced my glass cleaning to water changes and have found that my tank genuinely looks clearer and more bright thanks to the robo snail. I also had the opportunity to deal with the owner and inventor who stands behind the product completely. I am a tough customer and have pushed the product to great levels of satisfaction.
