They are so absorbent and dry quickly so they don't have time to get stinky. I bought some while I was in Sweden and couldn't find them in the USA so I was glad to find a source on Amazon that sells them. The thing to be careful about is not to bend them when they are dry or they crack and split. You have to get them wet before bending them. They can be thrown in the washer and I air dry mine. If I could say anything wrong about them would be that I wish that the pack had different colors to organize which ones would be for which chore.
