This mechanism is how the flux is contained in the pen rather than leaking from the nib. **Q: anywhere to get additional replacement tips? I've got plenty of juice left but the tip is toast** A: The tip is called a nib an can be replaced with one from a paint pen or that type of alcohol based paint. As for this specific Flux pen I'm not sure where to find replacements. I'm also still using it for over a year now. And have replaced the nib twice...I prefer a chisel tip nib or brush tip nib over the stock one. **Q: Will this glue aluminum pieces together?** A: This is flux not glue it is meant to make a metal adhere better to another metal flux helps bonding while soldering it may not work for soldering aluminum but there are flux pastes and gels that are designed specifically for soldering aluminum and tin,copper and so on **Q: Does it have an odor? I'm considering buying their syringe style flux because of their good customer service. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, but I still prefer wax flux *by B***T on September 5, 2022* This pen was pretty convenient when I was doing some quick soldering, however after a time I found myself just going back to my old wax consistency flux as it was much more comforting knowing that joints were properly fluxed. The pen seemed like it just didn't get as much flux out as I would have liked it to when I was really trying to perfect my joints. Another issue, as you will see from other comments is that the tip gets frayed really easily as you use it, which makes it harder to get flux where you want it. I personally wouldn't buy this pen again, but it is nice to have now that I already have it.
