Got it for ours, think he got food allergies and his poo was a bit runny but checked by vet who says he's in good health and he's certainly got lots of energy and his coat improved over course of a year, don't use probiotics at mo, see how it goes. Took to it ok so don't think tastes of much, didn't seem to detect it. **Q: Is this the same/like purina fortiflora?** A: I put Fortiflora on my cats food for around 3 years but looked for a cheaper alternative when it’s price leapt up. I’ve found no difference at all from Fortiflora. My cat has a gluten intolerance. I hope this helps. **Q: Do these capsules contain bifidobacterium for the cats digestive system?** A: These capsules do not contain bifidobacterium. **Q: Has this product helped with ibd?** A: I am not sure that my 20 year old Burmese has IBD but her stools had become loose & very smelly, probably more due to a bit of inflammatory bowel disease. These capsules have most definitely helped although it take a while for the benefits to be realised. Within a week of mixing one capsule with his food per day, he has improved tremendously. No more loose stools and the smell is certainly a lot less pungent. She has always had a few issues with her digestion. Throwing up her food occasionally accompanied by awful painful sounds that pull at your heart string. I moved her to sensitive food which really helped and give her access to grass (she can only be an indoor cat) to help her cleanse her stomach and this has worked well for almost 10 years. Except recently her throwing up became excessive and she could only hold smaller portions of food down at a time, for I took to feeding her 5 times a days in smaller quantities as a temporary measure. There is nothing wrong with her. Just her digestion and having always been a fan of enzymes (especially when my pets get ear infections instead of antibacterial drops) I found digestiaid for cats. There are two available here on Amazon, one made in the USA (another brand) and then this one. I opted to try this one as the ingredients are almost identical. The no 1 ingredient is plant fibre; inulin. And also to reduce carbon footprint. The bottle comes with three months supply and it worked instantly on her! In almost 90 days, I've just ordered more as it is running out, my little cat has only thrown up 2 times, and that was on cat treats not her food. And even now when she eats grass she keeps it down and passes it thru her stools instead of throwing it up. I couldn't be happier. I'm not saying it is a miracle cure, I'm saying my little cat is getting on in years and just needs some helps and that's why these enzymes and prebiotics are for right? I wouldn't give a perfectly healthy cat who does not have this issue this supplement; so my other cat doesn't have this, just this one. For info: she has had no issue with the taste either; whether mixed in or not to her food. 90 pills last 90 days as you sprinkle only half in the morning and the other half in the evenings, so only one capsule a day.
