No, they are NOT heavy, thermal underwear, for those of you who rated this product with a one star. You obviously didn't read the description. They are extremely comfortable (not scratchy in the least like some all-cotton thermals are) and give additional warmth without bulk. With that said, they will not give you much warmth being outside in sub-zero weather for hours on end under jeans or pants....they aren't made for that. Also they are cute!! I can't say enough about the soft comfort, and I love sleeping in them! The sleeves are plenty long, and they work beautifully under your clothing.
