You need to address the settings menu on the camera to enable the wireless function. This replaced my OEM Nikon remote which got lost. I believe this works better and seems to have a longer range. Remember you need to be able to have fairly good line of sight of the camera. My only issue was installing the battery. It is very easy to bend the positive (rim side) contact when putting the battery in. It also wants to pop out. So, a slight struggle getting the hatch to close. Great product and value. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works Great on my Nikon D40 *by on Reviewed in the United States March 12, 2026* I was nervous this wouldn't work for my 20 year old Nikon D40 that i still have and use today. Thankfully worked perfectly out of the box. Love the carabiner clip that came with it to attach quickly to my strap. Makes the use of it more useful and easy to grab for sure.
