These weights are so perfect. They keep my veggies under the water and they are easy to grip to take out of your jar even if they are wet! So many reviews for other similar products mentioned the weights being difficult to get out. This product has a handle with a slight edge that makes it easy to grip and pull right out of the jar. I just made sauerkraut and the weights worked perfectly. I use these weights with wide mouth Ball canning jars. Overall I am so pleased with my purchase!

After schlepping along with my own clunky solutions for keeping my sauerkraut and kimchi submerged, these are a blessing! The weight stated in the ad didn't sound like much, so I had my doubts they would be heavy enough; so far these weights generally kept things tamped down, but I did need to occasionally push them down again in a few cases. I suggest they be made just a bit larger in diameter to cover slightly more area and be a little heavier. They could easily be 1/8 inch or 3mm larger in total diameter and still be easy to fit in the jar opening. This is why I took off two stars under the "Easy to use" portion of the rating. Still, I'm very happy I found these. The glass is very good quality, clear and smooth, and the general design is perfect. The number of weights in the set was just right; when I'm not using them I can fit them all in an empty mason jar, then cover them with water and a little bleach to keep them sanitized!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfection!

These weights make homemade sauerkraut so much easier. I got some 64 ounce mason jars and the glass weights fit inside just perfect. I cut up a cabbage, one or two carrots with some spices, then put a round cabbage leaf as a floater trap with the glass weight on top of everything. That fills the jar with enough room for about two inches of brine on top and one inch of air space. It used to be such a chore trying to improvise weights using items already on hand that were ill-fitting and messy, but now it's easy peasy! Update: Just finished my first batch of sauerkraut and wanted to report that there was no problem removing the weight with my fingers. The handle is good for grasping.
