    An Excellent Book for Parents, Teachers and Grandparents

Drawing on a vast range of his own and others’ experiences, integrated with a deep knowledge of the research on children and their development, Dr. Lickona has written a wonderful book appropriate for parents, future parents, and teachers.  The book is easy to read, very substantive, and immediately practical.  I read it when it first came out and found it to be valuable in my own teaching and, as well, as a source of guidance for my own adult children as they raise their children (my grandchildren).  It has been required reading in one of my graduate education classes.  Not surprisingly, those students, most with child development and early education backgrounds, found it to confirm their own best instincts and an inspiration to their future perspectives and professional actions.  I strongly recommend it.
