Usually the floss will get caught on the screw and piece the screw tightens from, but this engineering is much better and there is nothing for the floss to get caught on. That is the biggest advantage to these hoops that I see as far as use. Liking the colors and size are secondary, but good too. I would recommend these to friends. I really like mine. I gave sturdiness a four star because they are a bit more flimsy than the regular hoops I have, but I don't see that as a problem. I have only just started using one, but it is working well.
