It's dinky, discreet, and durable. Perfect for use during powercuts, coastal and woodland hikes or treks under cover of darkness, and general security purposes, or even as a flashlight for use during night hours when activating household lights might disturb others' slumber.The dispersal range is excellent for a device of this size, though my only gripe concerns the dispersal patterns; apparently the J5 can move to pulse and narrow field modes. I've yet to determine how to activate those, and the fact that it is delivered without any operating instructions, renders my ability to learn this function somewhat diminished. I got it for the Mr for when he goes out at night with the dog (black dog). He is now able to see her and the ball, no matter the weather. He likes how you can change the light settings and it's not fiddly like others he has used in the past. He also loves the army green colour and is thinking about getting a few more....one for his work bag and one each for the cars.
