It's low enough that I can reach over it if I need to. It holds kid's snacks and trash to keep them out of the floor and from rolling up under the seat never to be found again. It also keeps my dog from putting her paws on my console... I feel much safer driving with it. of course she could get over it if she wanted to but the little discouragement has been enough to solidify her training. Easy to install easy to clean. Works with seat covers.
