I thought I'd give this brand a try, it was on sale for $20. for 12 cans so why not. I got them packed in water, I don't trust EVOO with 70% of olive oil on the market as fake. The fish was large, not fishy but flavorful meaty flavor. I added mustard to the fish and vinegar to the brine and it went down easily. I'm eating just one tin of sardines a day for a week and see how it goes, I might continue the plan for an extended time. These sardines I can eat every day. I was so surprised I liked them. How does make sense?** A: American labor in American facilities were earning an almost living wages. Some shops were also unionized which meant they would get medical benefits and retirement. The factories were closed and all the jobs were shipped overseas, in this case, the communist North Vietnam where at the time, labor rate was 50c per day American money. Sardines are hugely profitable for the fish mongers. Per CIA Fact Book, the labor rates in Vietnam have increased and as of the last time I checked, they are making $1.50 per day. Enjoy the benefits of modern colonialism and slavery. It should be added that Communist Red China has also been shipping jobs to Vietnam. I mean why pay $5 an hour for skilled people when you can pay $1 per day. Plus there the whole working around US sanction thing. **Q: Are they skinless and boneless?** A: As of June 2019, the sardines that I received have no heads, no tails, no skin and I did not see any bones (although the bones might be there). They are "all meat" with olive oil. **Q: is the can bpa free?** A: I was able to go to the website www.wildplanetfoods.com and it does say that the wild sardines are packed in cans that are bpa free. You may check it for yourself. I am still not sure about the Wild Planet Tuna. **Q: are these the whole fish - with heads, eyes, bones, tails, etc? the description says "whole portions" but just wanted to confirm. thanks.** A: no heads, eyes, and tails. I have two Siberian Huskies and sardines are supposed to be one of the best things you can supplement to a dog's diet. They get one can of these every Sunday, and these are a guaranteed way to get a happy dance out of both of them. They absolutely adore them! For pups, you want the ones packed in SPRING WATER (sodium overload issues with all other varieties), and I give them a rinse to cut the sodium intake even more (they would probably prefer I didn't as they lick every last drop from their bowls). Dry skin flare-ups for my pups have become a thing of the past. My eldest has skin allergies, but her issues have been fewer & farther between. They both seem to have more energy and be more alert. These cans are packed to the hilt with sardines, and the fish are meaty and substantial. The company practices sustainable fishing, which is a huge part of the reason I selected these sardines in the first place. I highly doubt I will support any other brands after the excellent success we've had with these. They might be a "little more expensive", but they are worth every penny (and still cheaper than I can get "inexpensive brands" at the supermarket).
