I took the plunge though, and I think this is one of the best purchases I've ever made! It was the perfect size for hotpot for 2 (could probably do 3 as well). I got it to surprise my fiancΓ© with hotpot at home for his birthday since we can't go out because of the stay at home orders. He was thrilled and thought this was perfect. The 3 heating levels were perfect for adjusting the temperature of our broth. The only mild complaint is that the cord is pretty short (maybe 3 feet?) so you need to have your set up very close to an outlet or be prepared with an extension cord. It heated up quickly and was bubbling away by the time I brought all the fixings to the table.
