All you need to hook these up to a small, inexpensive bass amp and you connect that amp to the bass output of your AV receiver. Tune the bass levels according to taste and you are good to go. Some people will tell you that a good bass(from a subwoofer) setup in any home theatre should be felt and not heard. These bass shakers will complement your setup no matter how good your subwoofer is. It just completes the LFE setup. Every shot or explosion is felt, giving a more realistic experience. On the end of the spectrum, if you don't want to create unnecessary friction with your neighbors, you can watch your movies with the volume down and the bass shakers cranked up.
