## Description

Built by a hero, refined by an expert.Retired Sergeant Major, Darrin Sirois channeled experience from 25 years of active duty into the creation of his original design. The knife world loved it. Then, renowned expert, Chris Williams made several small suggestions. The revisions boosted the SiWi compact tactical fixed blade into a league all its own. This is collaboration at its finest. If there’s one thing that Darrin Sirois has learned from his time overseas, it’s that if a tool can’t endure some of the most extreme conditions imaginable, it’s not worth having on hand. So when he was in his Fayetteville, North Carolina shop, designing the knife that was to later become the SiWi, his mission was singular: make it last. Then Chris Williams stepped in. He’s a master of aesthetic, and with several small tweaks, together they elevated the SiWi to a design force to be reckoned with and gave it a name that reflects the collaborative process. Match made. This mission-ready fixed blade is a compact powerhouse. Though that sounds like a paradox, the proof is in the incredibly stout modified drop point SK5 carbon steel blade. Finished with a non-reflective and highly resistant black-powder coat, it’s built to last, a quality that’s equally as evident in its unique G10 handles. The handles match the 3.3” blade in its compact-yet-stout capacity with texture for a strong grip even in the grittiest conditions. The subte jimping on the back spine finishes the look and feel. Finally, the glass-reinforced nylon sheath stands up to its counterpoint when it comes to utility with many different carry options. When two great minds converge to create a knife, you know it’s going to be good…the SiWi far exceeds expectation.About the Forged By War programIn 2013, Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical, designer of elite, military, tactical tomahawks, approached CRKT with the news that he had been working with a few combat veterans that had returned from war with varying degrees of post-traumatic stress (PTS). To help work through their challenges, they have been designing and forging steel into custom tools. Drawing from their experience earned in combat situations, they have been creating tools they wished they had available to them in the battlefield. CRKT cares deeply about our returning veterans and we saw a way to give back to the community that created them. In 2016, we launched the Forged By War program. These are mission ready tools, designed by veterans, with 10% of the CRKT net profits of the program donated to the veterans' charity of choice. Mission ready tools that are Forged By War. Review: Excellent Design and Workmanship - Excellent, small belt knife. Handy size, full-tang, good grip, razor sharp. This will become my EDC on the range
Review: Nice blade, nice price - Mine came razor sharp out of the box so not sure what was going on with CRKT's CC for the unfortunate folks that got a dull one. The steel is easy to sharpen and touch up. Edge retionion isn't bad. The coating helps to mitigate rusting concerns. Design is great. I prefer G10 scales and the design on this knife is fantastic. No matter how i grip it I have very solid control of the blade. Comes with a Tec Lok for multiple carry options. I carry it horizontal appendix and it doesn't get in the way at all. Overall size is about perfect for unobtrusive carry. Only complaint is that I would prefer a larger thumb rest on the kydex sheath to aid in the draw but that really is just nit picking. Overall I'm very pleased with this blade. CRKT has another winner. Just wanted to point out that the Esee Izula II is similar so you may want to compare. Micarta handle if you prefer that and some like the hole in the back of the tang. Also similar to a Bradford 3 but those are going to be more expensive due to material and workmanship.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost perfect, almost....
*by C***N on August 10, 2020*

First off, this is a WELL DESIGNED blade! The handle texture is perfect. The blade thickness means that “most” users will NEVER wear this blade out. The sheath is very doable for most people with many cant carry options. My biggest complaint is that it was dull when I received it. Call me old fashioned or just plain anal, but a NEW knife from a company as well established as CRKT should come hair-shaving sharp! This blade was NOT. I brought it up to speed on my whet stones. It is now 10-8 and squared away. I have (5) five other CRKT blades and they were very sharp. The handle is too short for my XL glove-sized hands. If the handle was an inch longer, it would fit perfect. Also I like, when I can, to buy American. CRKT is an American company but this blade was made in Asia. That’s ok, but it should have been cheaper in price to reflect this. I purchased a much BETTER blade made in Asia that I like a lot; the JXE-JXO for almost half the price. It came hair-shaving SHARP!!! Much like the Siwi, but made for grownups. Lol Sad, but true. : ( The Siwi is a well built blade that is well executed and designed. Hats off to it’s designer. It should have been sharp when I received it. Hope this helped someone. : )
