They are thinner than the standard grey sheets from art stores but I think because they don’t have that fiber backing. I like that when you carve the color underneath is slightly lighter, allowing you to see where you have carved easily. The rubber is firm but doesn’t crumble like the standard tan / grey sheets and is easy to carve details. I prefer this to the standard pink rubber as that block makes details difficult and bends too much while carving. This one has give like the pink rubber but not as much the details easier.
