## Description

Wanna talk hot? How about 1,000,000 Scovile units of hot! That's about 300 times hotter than a Jalapeno pepper. The Ghost Pepper "Bhut Jolokia" originates in India and is reputed to be the hottest pepper in the world. The fruit start out green, turn yellow, and then red/chocolate at maturity. Fruit measure 2-3" in length and tend to have a bumpy texture. The heat increases as they ripen. Use caution when handling the seeds, plant parts, and peppers. They are extraordinarily hot and cause real damage if the oils get in your eyes. Open-Pollinated, 110-125 days from transplant. BE SURE YOU START THEM EARLY TO GET A GOOD HARVEST!

Review: The seeds take time (1-2 weeks) to sprout. - I germinated the seeds for 3 days before planting in a seedling mix. I have a grow box and put them in there. It took a bit over a week (even 2 weeks) for sprouts to appear and I got about an 85% return on sprouts to seeds planted. Our soil in this part of Florida is loaded with nematodes and I learned the hard way not to plant peppers in the ground. I did two batches of seedings and transplanted the first batch into small containers before they go into the larger pots tha will be their home. The seedlings look pretty healthy but I won't know what the yield is for at least a month or two. The seedlings are all flowering as of late April. Late July: One plant is fruiting. It's late July and one of the plants is fruiting after several months of dropping flowers. Several of my larger plants were attacked by hornworm caterpillars and nearly stripped. They'll survive but are slowed drastically. As for the fruit: I like heat but this blew my mind. I'll turn these into chili powder. I put part of one in my chili and it lit me up. I've never had a fresh ghost pepper. It is super-hot. Wow. After the hornworms came the whiteflies. They demolished everything. Finally got them under control with soapy water. The 2 largest plants are finally yielding a decent number of peppers. My tabasco pepper is fully recovered from the whiteflies. The cayenne isn't far behind. It's almost winter here in central Florida and if we don't get a freeze, I should have a pretty good crop in spring.
Review: Fantastic Customer Service - Mike Stands Behind His Product! - I planted these on the 7th of October. I placed them on a heating pad set to 85. Kept consistently moist but not too soggy and saw no germination after a month and a half. Yes, I understand this is winter; however, some of my more mature pepper seedlings are thriving indoors and I planted several other pepper cultivars at the same time, which sprouted and are growing. Most people would automatically go and leave a bad review, instead, I visited their website https://ohioheirloomseeds.com/p/about-ohs and learned about their unconditional seed guarantee. I called the owner, Mike Dehlendorf at (Six One Four) 554-4657 and told him what I had done while planting and what results it had yielded. He is professional, knowledgeable, and, most importantly, stands behind his product. He told me that 1.5 months to germinate is way too long and he would send me some replacement seeds today. I am giving a 5-star review due to his customer service. I am excited to put these in my AeroGarden Farm 24XL and see if I have better results. I can't wait to put these in some salsa with my homegrown tomatoes next year!

### ⭐ Never germinated . was looking forward to it.
*by M***C on July 5, 2024*

planted in mid may zone 7 east coast , now is July 5th , not even one seed germinated, not even one plant made it . so what happened ? I was looking forward to it. I am just not happy I spent money on these seeds and now I can not even get my money back and I can't even enjoy the peppers. Some solution from the seller would be helpful. 1 star is very generous. reconsider before buying.
