They all are not the same amount of hair in each individual piece. Some are thicker and some are thinner. I first tried it like how it came. Loved it but it wasn't thick enough and I had alot in my head. So then I decided to glue 2-4 pieces together so it'll be thicker and I would have to use less.. turned out perfect! I probably used about half or a little less than what I originally did. Just take off the plastic string then carefully take off the black bead. No need for the rubber lining on the inside of bead. Then make sure u have a flat iron that u don't use often or anymore. Clamp the 2-4 pieces in the flat iron til the glue at the ends melt, then roll them together to a small enough width where glue is so that the bead can fit over it. We had to take extra small sections and even still some beads couldn't even fit the loop through. Other than installation problems they're great.
