The rubber wood is not oak or anything, but these days I will take a solid rubberwood over mdf and veneers. Easy and straightforward to assemble (took me 45 minutes to assemble one by hand with the allen wrench but took my husband only 30 minutes to assemble our three others with his drill and allen wrench attachment). Very happy with the East West company if you are looking for solid dining furniture but not wanting to pay thousands of dollars!

Great chair! Sturdy and looks elegant with my dining table, also from East West. Love that this company is more affordable and their furniture is solid wood and heavy/sturdy and will hold up to daily use. The rubber wood is not oak or anything, but these days I will take a solid rubberwood over mdf and veneers. Easy and straightforward to assemble (took me 45 minutes to assemble one by hand with the allen wrench but took my husband only 30 minutes to assemble our three others with his drill and allen wrench attachment).
