They are the right size for small children's hands. These are basically colored pencils because they are made of wood. The crayon part is this wonderful silky stuff. It stands up to use by many children. Y'know how some kids bang the tips of crayons tapping them aggressively on the paper? These don't break or disintegrate if a child uses them that way. The colors are more brilliant than regular crayons and you get good color even if you don't have much hand strength to push down. The box comes with a sharpener. Don't lose it.
