It was quite windy when we did this in fairness. It was easy to steer and stayed aloft great! It functions so well it was actually difficult to reel in, though it was very windy that day. Review: Great Kite!!! - I bought this kite along with the squid kite in the pics for my grand-daughters to use at the beach and they are both GREAT! One thing to mention is the Dolphin kite (we bought the black one that looks like a killer whale and the kids LOVED it) does put up a bit of a fight due to it's large size and multiple wind pockets so bear that I mind if you are buying these for kids. The adults flew them as well because let's face it, it's FUN and the dolphin one was like reeling in a fish whereas the other one was super easy to reel in.
