The cage comes with stakes, so it you use it outdoors, you could secure the panels that way. Inside you will need to come up with something else to keep it in place. I braced it against the wall and build three supports out of PVC to keep him from dragging the cage around and pulling it off the mat I made for it. The wire construction is very sturdy, my rabbit chewed/pulled/worked on getting through it for a few days and couldn't. The door secured well and opened/closed easily. The pen has no floor or roof so if you want shade for your critter outside or want to save your floors inside you will need to plan for that.
