First thing I noticed was how much bigger in length it is in comparison with other shoes I have in the same size. I then returned and exchanged for a size 7 1/2 US (38 in Brazil). When it arrived, I compared it with another pair of regular Mexico 66's of the same size. Conclusion: the "SD" ("Super Deluxe") version is longer than the regular version by about 3/16" to 1/4".Frustrated, I returned the 7 1/2 SD for a size 7. These shoes come in in-between sizes, so these were .25 cm longer (edit) than the regular size 7. In other words, instead of corresponding to size 38 Brazil, it corresponds to what they call "37.5", which is between sizes 37 and 38.Confusing.Comparing the Mexico SD size 7 US/37.5 Brazil with the regular Mexico 66 size 7 US regular I found they were virtually identical in length (the SD being a hair shorter) but the toe box on the SD has a shorter roof, meaning it squeezes against my big toes, almost painfully. In contrast, my toes have ample room from bottom to top of the toebox ON THE REGULAR Mexico 66, so they feel comfortable. (Edit: one of the reasons the "SD" version feels tighter on top of the toes is because its insole is twice as thick than the one in the regular Mexico 66's).In regards to width, the Mexico SD is also a hair wider than its regular cousins.Other than the weird sizing, the SD has removable and very nice insoles that are similar to those in performance shoes. The midsoles on this model also is made with the same type of material used on Asics' top shelf running shoes.Having said that, although it squeezes my big toes like a bench vise (see edit above), I intend to keep the Mexico 66 SD because I had been wanting these shoes in this color scheme from time immemorial.I can only hope it will strech a bit around the top of my big toes so that I won't have black nails, haha...
