The MT AHA/Glycolic cleanser was perfect for me, but they stopped making it. So tired of it; just when you find the perfect thing for you, the manufacturer stops making it. Back in the day you could buy the same shade of lipstick for 5+ yrs. Now you have to buy to 10 to get 1 that's right, then they stop making it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not the same product from company website *by A***L on Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2019* I’ve been using this cleanser for almost 4 years now. I’ve watched Michael Todd change the packaging and tinker with the formula throughout the duration of that time as well. I consider myself confidently familiar with what to expect from MT. That being said, I ordered directly from the MT website shortly before ordering this item. I wanted to see if there was a faster option to receive my product. I did see that the reviews were very bad but took the risk anyways. Now that I’ve used both this amazon purchased product and the MT website-purchased item, I can say that these are indeed different. At first use of the Amazon product (while waiting for the authentic to arrive) I couldn’t tell much difference in the formulas and consistency. My boyfriend and I both used it and our skin is accustomed to the authentic formula but we didn’t have any unusual breakouts or rashes. The Amazon-purchased packaging however is noticeably different from the authentic.Upon receiving and authentic from MT website I could see the differences in formula and packing more distinctly. The ingredients list is a bit different and the activated charcoal is much lower on the list.... meaning there is a lower concentration of it in the Amazon purchased product. The authentic cleanser color is a slightly grayer, thicker, and a tad less runny than the amazon purchased cleanser.All in all, beware that this is not the same exact product you would purchase from the authentic website. As to whether or not the Amazon purchased is inferior, the main aspect I notice is that it doesn’t remove my makeup as well as the authentic notoriously does. Otherwise I haven’t had any other pressing issues and the product is a pretty good imitation so far, hence the 3 star rating. I would have to use this item for a longer period of time to decide for sure if it is a BAD fake but for now it’s not an immediate throw it away because it’s dangerous or anything like that. This can change in the long term however so I will return to the review and update at a later time.For now, buyer beware: this is not the same formula and packaging of the authentic product being sold from MT’s website at this time. The amazon seller may have an older formulation and packaging that is no longer sold through MT itself OR it is a completely fake product. Despite this I haven’t had many hugely different/dangerous experiences using it. The 4th ingredient used to be activated charcoal (which is basically the WHOLE selling point of this cleanser), NOW that ingredient is so far down the list I can’t even tell you... like 20? It smells like chemicals now... not refreshing like it used to. I’ve used this new formula a few times now. All it does is dry out my skin, whereas before it really sucked out all the crap in my pores and kept my skin soft. This was my favorite cleanser...
